KTweb Workshop: Knowledge and content technology research - the past and the future 2 - 3 December 2003, European Commission, Luxembourg HIGHLIGHTS: Keynote addresses by leading industry players, from NOKIA and VERIZON; details of the plans for future research opportunities in the Sixth Framework Programme; plus project presentations and case studies; together with parallel demonstrations and poster session. This KTweb* Workshop is organised in conjunction with unit E2, Knowledge Management and Content Creation, at the European Commission in Luxembourg on December 2nd and 3rd 2003. Attendance is free of charge. The first day presents a retrospective view on knowledge and content technology research undertaken under the Commission's Fifth Framework Programme (FP5), showcasing selected projects from Unit E2, together with case studies from FP5 and from other research programmes where there has been a successful commercial take-up of the research results. The second day will look ahead to future research, with a preview of some of the new Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) projects together with information on the 2004-2005 Work Programme. There will be speakers from the European Commission, the research community, and from industry. There will be ample time for informal discussion and 'networking', as well as parallel project demonstrations and poster sessions.
